Boulos was a key player in Trump’s campaign, helping to mobilize Arab-American and Muslim voters, many of whom were unhappy with the White House’s policy on the war in Gaza between Israel and the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.
The businessman will take on a difficult role, having to address issues such as the conflict that Israel maintains in Gaza, the fragile ceasefire agreed with Hezbollah in Lebanon, and the situation arising from the advance of rebel forces in Syria against the questioned government of Bashar al- Assad.
“Massad is an accomplished lawyer and a highly respected leader in the business world, with extensive experience on the international stage,” Trump said of his selection for the role of Middle East advisor.
“He has long been a defender of Republican and conservative values, an active member of my campaign, and was instrumental in building new and large coalitions with the Arab-American community,” highlighted the former president (2017-2021), qualifying him as a “deal maker”.
Boulos’ son, Michael, is married to Trump’s daughter, Tiffany. On Saturday, Trump nominated Charles Kushner, the father of his son-in-law Jared, as US ambassador to France.
