President of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and the National Council of Justice (CNJ), minister Luís Roberto Barroso said that when he took office last year, one of his “main propositions was to seek the pacification of the country”. “The truth is that some facts kept the country a little agitated.”
Barroso spoke at the 18th National Meeting of the Judiciary, held in Campo Grande.
Despite citing frustration, the minister defended that Brazil is experiencing “absolute institutional normality” and that relations between the Three Powers — Executive, Legislative and Judiciary — are “independent, but harmonious”.
