Brazil’s economy recorded growth of 0.9% in the third quarter of 2024 compared to the previous quarter. The data was released this Tuesday (3) by the (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics). This increase was driven mainly by the and , which showed increases of 0.9% and 0.6%, respectively. On the other hand, agriculture faced a drop of 0.9%. In total, the country’s GDP reached R$3 trillion in the period, with R$2.6 trillion referring to Value Added at basic prices.

Analyzing the performance of GDP in the last 12 months until September, there was an accumulated growth of 3.1%. The investment rate in the third quarter was 17.6% of GDP, surpassing the 16.4% recorded in the same period of the previous year. On the other hand, the savings rate fell to 14.9%, below the 15.4% observed in 2023. In relation to the third quarter of 2023, GDP increased by 4%, with industry growing by 3.6% and services 4.1%.

With regard to agriculture, there was a decrease of 0.8% compared to the same period last year. Throughout the year, until the third quarter of 2024, GDP showed growth of 3.3% compared to the same period in 2023. While agriculture recorded a drop of 3.5%, the industrial and services sectors showed results positive, with growth of 3.5% and 3.8%, respectively.
