This will be decided by the Nitra Self-governing Region (NSK) on Monday, December 9. The winner of the selection process was Veronika Moravčíková.
“Immediately after the end of the said selection procedure activities began to occur that lead to our legitimate fear of influencing the course of voting in the NSK Representative Office,” stated the head of the DAB artistic group Peter Oszlík. 17 members of the artistic ensemble signed the open letter to the deputies.
According to Oszlík, they fear that the NSK Board of Directors will not confirm the winning candidate by voting or even cancel the entire selection procedure due to a procedural error and temporarily entrust the management to the current director, Jaroslav Dóczy, after which a new selection procedure will be announced. “A similar situation related to the selection process for the position of DAB director also occurred in the past, therefore, it is almost openly discussed that the election of the DAB director in Nitra is traditionally politicized,” the actors point out.
At the same time, the artistic group criticized the current management of the theater. He pointed out, for example, non-standard management procedures, doubts about the financial transactions of the DAB Friends Club, or cases of contracts and job opportunities being awarded to family members of the current director.
The file claims that the DAB in Nitra under the current leadership is losing its good name and reputation built up over the years. DAB Director Jaroslav Dóczy did not comment on the accusations. According to his own words, he is abroad and will give his opinion later.
