The wall of Ninho do Urubu, Flamengo’s Training Center, was spray-painted in the early hours of this Tuesday (3). Fans of the red-black team responsible for the event wrote a curious phrase: “Delivery to Criciúma”. With this objective, fans intend to harm rival Fluminense.
Flamengo will visit the team from Santa Catarina this Wednesday (4), at 8pm, at the Heriberto Hülse stadium. The duel is valid for the 37th and penultimate round of the Brazilian Championship. Criciúma is Fluminense’s direct rival in the fight against relegation. For this reason, Flamengo fans sent such a message in the graffiti, as a victory for Criciúma could complicate the Tricolor rival’s fight against relegation to Series B.
Flu will take the field on Thursday, at 8 pm, against Cuiabá, at the Maracanã stadium, in Rio de Janeiro. Mano Menezes’ team is in 16th place in the table, with 40 points. Criciúma opens the relegation zone, in 17th, with 38 points.
Flamengo no longer has aspirations in the Brazilian Championship. With no chance of winning the title, the red-black team occupies third place in the table, with 66 points. The team is already guaranteed the 2025 Copa Libertadores.
In addition to Fluminense and Criciúma, Red Bull Bragantino, Juventude, Athletico-PR and Atlético-MG are the other teams that are still at risk of falling to Série B.
