Hapvida detailed this Tuesday (3) morning its investment plan of R$2 billion for the coming years. According to , the company believes that it is possible to have more than 100 hospitals of its own in the next two years. Currently, Hapvida has 85 hospitals within an ecosystem of almost 800 care units.
The company’s CEO, Jorge Pinheiro, revealed that more than R$1 billion (at least half of the investment) will be directed to expanding its own network in São Paulo and the Metropolitan Region.
Two new hospitals in the capital of São Paulo are in the plan. The main project is the Antonio Prudente Hospital, in the south of São Paulo, with 250 beds. “A hospital of very high complexity”, stated the CEO. “We are going to have our third radiotherapy unit in the State of São Paulo. […] We will bring highly complex surgery. We want to perform transplants here at this hospital.”

Still in the south of São Paulo, on Avenida Brigadeiro Luis Antônio, Hapvida will build the Ibirapuera Hospital, “with a focus on women and children”, says Pinheiro. “We will bring highly complex obstetrics, with intensive care units for babies and mothers, when necessary.” This second hospital also has 250 beds.
Hapvida’s plan also foresees the reopening of two hospitals, with an increase in beds: Jardim Anália Franco, in the east zone, and Hospital Santo André, in ABC Paulista. In Osasco, Cruzeiro do Sul Hospital will also undergo an expansion with a doubling of the tower planned for the coming months and an increase of 60 beds.

Hapvida’s CFO, Luccas Adib, explains that Hapvida has its own cash to make investments. “The company is on a journey to recover margins and generate cash,” he stated. “We do not expect a negative impact on our leverage with these investments.”
In addition to investments in São Paulo, Hapvida’s plan foresees the construction of hospitals in Rio de Janeiro, Pernambuco, Ceará, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará and Amazonas, totaling 10 units.
