Manchester City’s poor form could lead to significant changes for next season. After renewing with Pep Guardiola, the English club’s board is evaluating which names will remain in 2025 – and a Brazilian may be out of the Citizens’ plans.
According to the United States newspaper “The Athletic”, Ederson, Kyle Walker, Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish are possible departures from the club. With a contract until 2026, right-back Kyle Walker should be the list’s sales priority.

Ederson
At the club since the 2017/18 season, goalkeeper Ederson, formerly of Benfica and São Paulo, is a member of the team. However, recent actions could change this status. His competitors in the current squad are the German Stefan Ortega and the experienced Scott Carson.
Ortega even started in the derby against Liverpool, on Sunday (1). In a post-game interview, Guardiola justified it.
— We just wanted to change something. Ederson saved a lot of goals for us. He made one-on-one saves many, many times, but I decided to choose Stefan Ortega today — said the coach.
At 31 years old, Ederson has a contract with Manchester City until 2026. In July, Al-Ittihad and Al-Nassr, both from Saudi Arabia, expressed interest in the Brazilian, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. Negotiations did not progress.

Kyle Walker
At 34 years old, right-back Kyle Walker had great moments at City and is in a poor technical state, with 11 games without goals or assists this season. The contract runs until June 2026.
An England national team player, Walker arrived at the club in 2017, coming from Tottenham. Kyle is one of Manchester City’s captains and, despite being a leader, his performance on the field is considered below expectations, which has led Guardiola to alternate him in the starting lineup with Rico Lewis.
According to the English newspaper Daily Star, City are willing to negotiate the defender for 15 million pounds (R$ 111.4 million). Clubs in the Arab world monitor the athlete’s situation.

Kevin De Bruyne
Kevyn de Bruyne, one of the main players in City’s history, arrived in Manchester in 2016, after standing out at Germany’s Wolfsburg in the 2015/2016 season. The player was 24 years old and cost around 52 million pounds (equivalent to R$286.85 million).
De Bruyne’s contract with Manchester City runs until June 2025 and the player can now sign a pre-contract with another team. At 34 years old, the Belgian has 11 games, one goal and one assist in the current season, in addition to not being a starter for the team.
Jack Grealish
Striker Jack Grealish has been at City since 2021 and, despite good performances, he was unable to achieve the expected protagonism. This season, he has 13 games and two assists.
The Englishman has a contract with the club until 2027, but is expected to be negotiated in the next window. According to the British press, the player’s fate could be an old acquaintance: Aston Villa, his former club, and Tottenham are interested in repatriating Grealish.
