The Ministry of Justice plans to select six proposals to be considered with the available resources

The (MJSP) received proposals from 14 Brazilians interested in participating in the call for contracts for the military. This movement is part of a larger effort, announced last month, which includes the provision of R$100 million for the purchase and implementation of this equipment, which will be attached to police uniforms.

The states that expressed interest in joining this program are Acre, Alagoas, Bahia, Distrito Federal, Maranhão, Pará, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Piauí, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Norte, Rio Grande do Sul, Roraima and São Paulo. The Ministry of Justice plans to select six proposals to be considered with the available resources. Selection will be based on strict criteria established by the Ministry, including the requirement that cameras remain on throughout the officers’ time on duty.

The distribution of resources and cameras will be proportional to the size of each corporation’s staff. For example, institutions with a staff of 15 to 20 thousand police officers will be able to receive up to 1,500 cameras, while smaller corporations, with less than 5 thousand police officers, will receive around 300 cameras. Furthermore, if there is a surplus of resources, the Ministry of Justice may consider including other proposals and states in the program, further expanding the reach of this initiative.
