The 31st edition of Multishow Award takes place this Tuesday (3), at Riocentro, located in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro, starting at 8:45 pm. Names from all aspects of national music will be celebrated at the ceremony, which will feature performances by Tadeu Schmidt, Tatá Werneck and Kenya Sade.
The one leading the nominations this year is the singer Linikerdriven by the success of “Cashew”an album she released in August. The São Paulo native competes in 11 different categories, including some of the main ones, such as TVZ Clip of the Year, Hit of the Year, Artist of the Year and Album of the Year. Gloria Groove and Pabllo Vittar appear soon after with five nominations.
Duchess, Grelo, Jota, The Garotins, Yago Oproprio e Zaynara will compete for the trophy, which has already been won by great national music artists, such as Family, Pitty, Los Hermanos and Luan Santana. The category, however, missed some artists who would later grow and establish themselves as indispensable names.

Ivete Sangalo
Ivete Sangalo was nominated twice for the Newcomer of the Year award and lost on both occasions. In 1998, the Bahian was behind Vanessa Rangel, owner of the hit “Palpite”, which was part of the soundtrack for the soap opera “Por Amor”, on TV Globo. In 2000, the voice of “Macetando” and “Festa” was second to Maurício Manieri, who, at the time, was booming with the album “A Noite Inteira”.
Charlie Brown Jr.
The band from the city of Santos, located on the coast of São Paulo, was also nominated in the 1998 edition and, like Ivete Sangalo, lost the award to Vanessa Rangel. In addition to the rockers responsible for hits such as “Me Found” and “Zoio de Lula” and the Bahian singer, Claudinho & Bochecha and Zeca Baleiro also lost the dispute.

Belo
In 2001 it was the turn of singer Belo, one of the biggest names in the history of romantic pagode, to lose the trophy to Wanessa Camargo, who was just starting her career. In addition to him, Nanda Reis had also been nominated in the category and left empty-handed.

Diogo Nogueira
Another samba name that fell by the wayside was Diogo Nogueira, who had just released his first studio album (“Poder da Criação”). In 2008, he lost to the band Strike, who were successful with their debut album and had recorded a song at the opening of “Malhação”. Ana Cañas, Scracho and Vanguart were also nominated.

Anita
Owner of ten nominations for the Latin Grammy and another two for the Grammy Awards, Anitta was also not recognized as Newcomer of the Year. Her nomination came in 2013, the year in which rapper and former BBB member Karol Conká received the trophy. Singer Clarice Falcão was also nominated on the occasion.
