Watch out for cracks
To prevent mice from getting to you at all, you should first seal all the cracks. “Go through the entire house, including the basement, and seal all possible cracks. Don’t forget that mice only need an opening the width of a pencil and they will bite their way in,” warns the expert and recommends sealing all cracks and holes in the wall with anti-biting material. The ideal solution is concrete or plaster. But what you should definitely not use is PU foam or cotton wool, because rodents will gnaw it playfully!
Bet on the smells
They say that mice hate aromatic plants. Take advantage of it! How to do it: Divide the dried lavender, chamomile, oleander, bay leaf, chili or tomato leaves into piles and put them in textile bags. Hang them in places where mice can be found. The aroma of plants reliably repels rodents,” our reader Jáchym from Kladno recommends one of the grandmother’s tips, adding at the same time the tip that rodents also do not like the aroma of garlic or walnut leaves.
Use hairspray
You can also use hairspray to repel mice. Spray it on the door sills and believe that its strong aroma will repel rodents so much that they will not dare to enter your house. You can also deter mice by placing tufts of human hair in various “danger spots”. Rodents take humans as an enemy who threatens them and are wary.
