These fruits can be used in many ways. Fresh, they are perfect for fruit salads or as a snack. You can also freeze them or make jam from them. However, the most popular way to use haskap berries is to make juice from them. To prepare this delicious elixir of life we need:
- 1 kg of fresh fruit,
- 350 g of fine sugar,
- 500 ml of water.
First, wash the fruit thoroughly (they should be without stalks) and drain. Then prepare a medium-sized pot and pour water into it. Wait until the water boils and add fruit and sugar to the pot. Mix thoroughly and reduce the heat. The juice must be boiled for about 25 minutes over low heat. After this time, we need to strain it – it is best to wait until the juice cools down a bit.
Pour the strained juice into sterilized bottles or jars. Cover tightly and pasteurize for 15 minutes.
