To prepare dumplings with dried plums you will need:
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil,
- 100 g walnuts,
- 100 g dried figs,
- 100 g dried smoked plums,
- 100 ml dry red wine,
- 2 tablespoons of butter,
- 2 tablespoons of honey,
- 300 g of flour,
- 50 g dried cranberries,
- 5-8 tablespoons of boiling water,
- ground cinnamon and cardamom to taste,
- juice and grated zest of half a lemon.
Cinnamon and cardamom can also be replaced with gingerbread spice or spices.

Crumble the walnuts, chop the figs and plums finely. Pour dry red wine, butter, honey, cinnamon, cardamom, lemon juice and zest into the pot. Heat everything over low heat to combine the ingredients. Add walnuts, figs, prunes and cranberries. Mix, heat and set aside to cool (preferably overnight).
Prepare the dough for the dumplings. Sift the flour onto a pastry board or into a large bowl, add a tablespoon of olive oil and 5 tablespoons of boiling water. Knead the dough vigorously – it should be soft and elastic. If necessary, add another tablespoon of boiling water. Wrap the dumpling dough in foil and set aside for about half an hour.

Roll out the dough until it is about 3 mm thick. Glass cut out discs, put a teaspoon of stuffing in the center of each one, and then seal the edges. Boil water in a large pot. Add the dumplings with dried plums in batches and cook for about a minute after they float. It is best to serve them with melted butter, cinnamon and coarse sugar.
