Current champion of the Copa Libertadores, Botafogo was the last classified of the 32 teams that will compete in the 2025 Super World Cup.
In addition to Botafogo, three more Brazilian teams are competing: Fluminense, Botafogo and Palmeiras, who also secured their places by winning the Libertadores.

Who can Botafogo face in the 2025 Club World Cup?
With the pots and rules defined for the draw, Botafogo already knows who the possible opponents will be. The team is in pot 3. In other words, they must face a seed.
Giant clubs from Europe, such as Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and PSG, are part of pot 1, as is River Plate. As the current Libertadores champion, the team is the only one with the possibility of facing one of these four Europeans in the group stage.
In other words, in addition to these four foreigners, you can face Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, Porto, Atlético de Madrid, Benfica, Juventus, RB Salzburg – who are in pot 2. In pot 4, you can face Urawa Red Diamonds, Al Ain , Espérance, Mamelodi Sundowns, Pachuca, Seattle Sounders, Auckland City, Inter Miami.
Only clubs from Europe can face other teams from the same continent in the first phase. In other words, the Rio club runs the risk of catching what is called the “group of death”.
When will the draw for the new Club World Cup be?
The draw takes place on Thursday (05/12), at 3pm (Brasília time), in Miami. The draw pots were announced by FIFA.

Where to watch the draw for the new Club World Cup?
The draw will be broadcast on the official FIFA website and via FIFA+ streaming. In Brazil, CazéTV also owns the rights.
When does the new Club World Cup start?
Now with 32 participating teams, the first edition of the competition will take place in 2025. More specifically, between June 15th and July 13th.
Where will the new FIFA Club World Cup take place?
The United States will host the 2025 Club World Cup. The tournament will be played in 11 cities. Orlando will have two stadiums. Nine headquarters are on the East Coast, and only two are on the West Coast (Los Angeles and Seattle). The final will be played at MetLife Stadium in New York.

What is the format of the new Club World Cup?
Held in the United States, the tournament will feature eight groups, each made up of four teams that will face each other in a single round. The two best teams in each group will qualify for the round of 16, which will be played in single knockout games. There will be no third place competition.
