Ukraine develops and manufactures new missiles as part of efforts to reduce its dependence on foreign military aid to counter Russian military aggression. Zelensky said last month that four new types of missiles were being tested.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced this Tuesday that the national industry is accelerating its own production of missiles, after a meeting with those responsible for weapons development.
“I received a report on the testing of new types of missiles. I can thank the Ukrainians who are involved in the development of missiles. We are accelerating production,” Zelensky wrote on social media, without giving further details.
At the meeting, the Ukrainian President was also informed about contracts with weapons producers, reporting “a significant volume of new and long-term orders for drones”.

Zelensky said last month, in an interview with Ukrainian public radio, that four new types of missiles were being tested.
In October, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov stated that Ukraine’s priority is the development and production of drones and long-range ballistic missiles.
Numerous public and private drone manufacturers are supplying an increasing number of unmanned devices to the Ukrainian Army.
Some Western countries, such as Denmark, also buy some of the military aid they provide to Kiev from Ukrainian producers.
