The astronaut poetically described the phenomenon as “cosmic fireflies”, highlighting the visual effect of satellites shining as they orbit the Earth. There are currently more than 6,700 Starlink satellites in orbit, part of Elon Musk’s ambitious plan to reach a total of 42,000 satellites to provide high-speed internet around the world.
The image, in addition to being visually stunning, is also a reminder of the growing impact of technology in space and the pioneering role that companies like SpaceX play in modern space exploration.
