The Brazilian Championship can be defined on Wednesday night (4). Leader of the competition, Botafogo has the chance to win the national title one round in advance.
The Rio team leads the tournament with 73 points. Palmeiras is in second place, with 70. Botafogo visits Internacional this Wednesday, at 9:30 pm, at the Beira-Rio stadium. The São Paulo team plays against Cruzeiro, at Mineirão, also at 9:30 pm.
If Botafogo defeats Inter and Palmeiras does not beat Cruzeiro, the Rio team will be able to shout champions. The title could even come with a draw against their rival from Rio Grande do Sul, if Palmeiras is defeated by Cruzeiro in Belo Horizonte
If Botafogo and Palmeiras win their commitments this Wednesday, the decision will be made in the last round. The scenario repeats itself if both draw their games or lose their matches. In the final round of the competition, Botafogo will host São Paulo, while Palmeiras will face Fluminense at Allianz Parque. The clashes are scheduled for Sunday.
To regain the lead in the Brasileirão and depend solely on themselves in the last round to win the cup, Palmeiras needs to overcome Cruzeiro this Wednesday and hope for a defeat for Botafogo against Inter.
