President of the Foreign Relations and National Defense Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, Lucas Redecker (PSDB-RS) does not intend to appeal against the decision of the minister, of the Federal Supreme Court, who prevented a hearing with former presidential advisor Filipe Martins.

“It is important to emphasize that we cannot ignore what is in question, which, at this moment, makes it impossible for us to move beyond what is established”, says the toucan.

The agency even scheduled the testimony of Martins, one of those indicted by the Federal Police for , for last Wednesday (27). The former advisor would talk about his arrest, motivated by the accusation that he had traveled to the USA at the end of 2022, which he denies.

Moraes, however, says that his presence at the commission, even virtually, would violate the conditions for his release and could lead him back to prison.

According to Redecker, despite his decision, “the commission’s deputies have full freedom to present proposals, which, if approved, can be forwarded to continue the debate.”
