threatened this Tuesday (3) to intensify its offensive if the agreement is not maintained. Foreign Minister Israel Katz said the offensive could be expanded if Lebanese forces did not fulfill their role in the ceasefire agreement. This agreement, which is still valid for at least five weeks, requires the Lebanese army to control the region between the Litani River and Israel’s northern border. However, Katz expressed concerns that Lebanese forces are not acting as expected, which could result in Israeli attacks against both Hezbollah and the Lebanese army.

Despite still being in force, the ceasefire has shown signs of fragility. Pressure from humanitarian bodies and the United Nations has been crucial to maintaining the agreement, in the hope that it will become definitive after the stipulated 60 days. The humanitarian crisis in Lebanon is severe, with significant economic loss and more than a million displaced people now trying to return to their homes. This situation in Lebanon contrasts with the ongoing violence in the Gaza Strip, where attacks persist, further worsening the humanitarian situation in the region.
