Neo-Nazis are also being investigated for accusations of propaganda or preparation of violent acts, including getting rid of alleged traitors.
Italian police have detained 12 people in a nationwide operation against the neo-Nazi group Werwolf Division, which allegedly planned attacks on high-ranking figures, including Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The news agency ANSA informed about it, writes TASR.
Police also searched houses and other properties from Lombardy in the north of the country through Rome to Sicily in the south of Italy.
The suspects were allegedly part of an “organized cell” capable of carrying out so-called lone wolf attacks. They are being investigated for crimes such as conspiring to commit terrorism, inciting racial, ethnic and religious discrimination and illegal possession of weapons.

Among the charges against the group is “preparation of serious attacks” against Meloni and the World Economic Forum economist, among others, the court order states. Other charges include propaganda or preparation of violent acts, including getting rid of alleged traitors.
According to the judge, there are a total of 25 suspects in the case between the ages of 19 and 76, some of whose residences were already searched by the police in Bologna and Naples last May.
