Ronaldinho Gaúcho’s grandson will not only have a grandfather who is a former football player. The father of Giovanna Buscacio – pregnant with the child of João Mendes, the only heir of the ‘Bruxo’ – also pursued a career on the pitch and spent time in the 1990s at Botafogo, in addition to having played for teams in Portugal, Hungary and South Korea.
Now 50 years old, Júlio César Gouveia Vieira played as a striker for Rio’s black and white team from 1994 to 1996, and was part of the 1995 Brazilian champion squad. In Brazil, he also defended Ponte Preta in 1999; Madureira, in 2005; América-RJ, between 2006 and 2007; Cabofriense, in 2008; and ended his career at CFZ-RJ, a club founded by Zico in 2009, according to the website O Gol.
Julinho, as he became known, also had international experience. Between 1996 and 1997, he played for Marítimo, in Portugal – and his other daughter, actress Giullia Buscacio, was born in the country. He later played for Videoton, in Hungary, between 2006 and 2007.
One of the highlights of Julinho’s career was in South Korea, where he played for Chunnam Dragons and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors between 2001 and 2004. In the four years he lived in the country with his family, the striker had direct contact with the local culture . Giullia even took Korean etiquette classes.
Giovanna Buscacio is 25 years old and lives in Manchester with João Mendes. At 19 years old, Ronaldinho Gaúcho’s son is a striker and, last August, he signed a professional contract with Burnley, in England, until 2026. He is the result of Ronaldinho Gaúcho’s relationship with Janaína Natielle Mendes, a former dancer.
