At just 20 years old, goalkeeper Mycael, from Athletico-PR, became the target of some European giants. Teams such as Manchester United, Leicester, Brentford and West Ham are on the list of interested parties for the young goalkeeper.
Athletico views the negotiations with optimism. The intention is to exceed the amount raised from the sale of Bento to Al-Nassr, from Saudi Arabia. Made in July, it was closed for around 18 million euros (approximately R$107 million).

Who is Mycael, the Athletico standout in United’s sights?
At the age of 20, the goalkeeper was created at the base of the Paraná team. He even received some call-ups for the Brazilian national team in the youth teams. He was born in Rondônia and arrived at the club in 2018, at the age of 14, after passing a screening.
Called up to the national team since the Under-15s, in 2019, he has accumulated more than 50 caps. Among all the country’s youth players, he is the player with the most caps.
This season, he took over the starting goal for Furacão and has stood out in this final stretch of the Brazilian Championship, at times when the team found itself threatened with relegation. His professional debut took place in July this year, in the Brasileirão.
Mycael has accumulated important titles for the national team, including the South American Under-20, Under-15 and Pan-American Championships in 2023. As for Furacão, he was part of the squad that won the state title earlier this year, in a final against Maringá.

What are the conditions for Athletico to negotiate Mycael with Europe?
The player has a contract until 2027. Athletico’s board, in turn, is in no rush to negotiate him. The idea is to keep the defender as a starter during the following season.
