A young woman named Hayleigh is among the people who prepare, dress and place the deceased in the coffin, ensuring that they are treated with dignity and respectinforms He talks about what happens to the body after death in the podcast and on TikTok. Hayleigh, who is known as Mort Tech, explained that her work includes embalming, hair and face treatments if the deceased have suffered accidental injuries.

In the podcast episode, she talked about everything from the embalming process to the challenges she faces. Hosts Lauren and Billy were shocked by many aspects of her job that they had no idea about. They were very surprised by what happens to the organs after death. “People think that during an autopsy, your organs will go back to where nature intended them to be. It’s not like that. All are placed in a clinical bag back into the trunk, chest cavity and abdomen. So your brain is not in your head,” Hayleigh explained.

“Oh my god, that freaked me out a little” Billy admitted. After asking why this is so, another unpleasant surprise came. “Because once you start cutting and picking things out, there’s no going back. You’ll just be shaking. And if things start leaking… It’s best to keep it all together.” stated the expert and at the same time disgusted both moderators.

In the comments, people confirmed that they had no idea. “I could have lived my whole life perfectly fine without knowing this information,” one person stated. “It was information I neither needed nor wanted to know. Interesting, but now I question every funeral I’ve been to and whether they had an autopsy or not,” commented another.
