The natural habitat of alpine violets, also called Persian cyclamen, is the mountainous areas of Greece, Turkey and Iran. These plants grow there on rocky slopes, which makes them adapted to difficult climatic conditions.

In addition to basic care, we also need to ensure proper nutrition of plants. This is especially important now, because violets bloom in late autumn and winter, delighting the eyes with colorful flowers. But it happens that after releasing a few flowers, the plant suddenly stops blooming.

Then it is worth using a natural fertilizer that will provide the plant with the necessary ingredients that will allow it to continue flowering. All we need to do is prepare your own homemade fertilizer from coffee grounds, which will be rich in phosphorus, potassium and magnesium. These substances will perfectly strengthen the plant’s root system and stimulate it to grow and flower.

Preparing a home-made fertilizer for Persian cyclamen is not difficult. All we need is a tablespoon of coffee grounds and one liter of boiled water at room temperature. Then pour water over the grounds and mix thoroughly. We leave the mixture for several hours.

After this time, strain the liquid through gauze or a strainer. We water the plants with this mixture once every two weeks. However, be careful not to wet their leaves. At the same time, make sure that the grounds come from natural coffee. We also cannot use them in excess, so as not to cause excessive acidification of the soil.
