The (-SP) admitted this Wednesday (4) its name as a “plan B” of the right in the 2026 presidential elections, but said that plan A is still its father, (PL), declared ineligible by the (Superior Electoral Court ).

“Plan A is [Jair] Bolsonaro, I can be plan B”, said Eduardo, who is in Buenos Aires, where he participated in a panel at CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference). Despite the statement, he emphasized that he is not a candidate for the next Brazilian election.

Both the former president, his children and the PL, the party that houses the entire family, insist on the possibility of reversing Bolsonaro’s ineligibility as the main strategy for the election to the Planalto Palace.

The name of former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro or one of the former president’s sons (Flávio, Eduardo or Carlos) is considered as an alternative by allies.

president of PL, mentioned Eduardo’s name to GloboNews in October as an option to run for President in 2026. “The first in line is, governor of , currently affiliated with ]but we have Eduardo Bolsonaro too,” he said.

Despite his speech, Valdemar said he believed in the viability of Bolsonaro’s candidacy via the amnesty approved by the .

Eduardo defended the thesis at CPAC that his father and the ideology he defends are being persecuted. He showed the video in which Bolsonaro approaches a whale aboard a jet ski. Eduardo said: “do you deserve jail for that?”, receiving a “no” in response.

“What is this?” asked the deputy. “Dictatorship”, replied the public. He also showed reports about the case of Bolsonaro’s meeting with the ambassadors and stated that the prisoners did nothing wrong to us.

“They were Brazilians going to defend the truth in a peaceful way,” said the congressman. In the public, shouts of “freedom” and “amnesty” could be heard.

The former president also participated, via video, in the conference, and stated that he had never thought about a coup. He attacked the minister of the (Supreme Federal Court) and said he was persecuted by him. He appealed again for the return of his passport, in order, according to him, to attend the inauguration of the elected president of the , .

Several young supporters, dressed in suits and ties and “Make Argentina Great Again” caps, asked the deputy for photos. Others asked for help from Brazilian friends or family members imprisoned in Buenos Aires at the request of the Brazilian justice system.
