Two Danish teams were punished for a curious reason, to say the least. AGF and Nordsjaelland will have to pay a fine of 5,000 Danish crowns (R$4,200 at current prices) after their fans fought a snowball fight. The episode took place on November 22, in a match in the country’s Super League.

The punishment was announced by the Danish Football Association this Thursday (5). After investigation, it was concluded that four snowballs – two on each side of the crowd – were thrown into the stands at Farum Park, home of Nordsjaelland.

According to the entity, the case represents a “violation of security and order at the stadium” and represents an “increasing focus on throwing objects towards the field”. The Federation report still treats the penalty as light due to the fact that the snowballs did not hit any individual.

In the match, Nordsjaelland won 1-0, with a goal from Milan Iloski in the 47th minute of the second half. The team occupies 7th place in the tournament, with 26 points, while AGF has two points more and is in 4th place.
