This ambitious project aims to recover native vegetation in a vast area of ​​500,000 km², known as the Arc of Deforestation. The goal is to transform this region into an Arc of Restoration, with a total investment of R$100 million. This amount will be divided equally between the Amazon Fund and BNDES, each contributing R$50 million.

The notices aim to select projects that promote ecological and productive restoration, with a special focus on biodiversity conservation. The priorities defined by the Ministry of the Environment include areas of great importance, such as conservation units, agrarian reform settlements, as well as indigenous and quilombola territories located close to the Amazon. The resources will be strategically allocated in three macro-regions: Acre, Amazonas and Rondônia; Mato Grosso and Tocantins; and Pará and Maranhão.

The timeline for executing the projects is 48 months, with restoration activities scheduled to begin within the next 24 months. After work begins, monitoring and maintenance of the restored areas will be carried out over the subsequent 24 months. This careful planning aims to ensure that restoration efforts are sustainable and effective over the long term, reversing environmental damage and promoting sustainability in the region.
