Franchise revenue grows 12.9% in the 3rd quarter

Sector reaches R$70.2 billion with emphasis on entertainment, food and cleaning

Revenue in the franchise sector in Brazil grew by 12.9% in the 3rd quarter, reaching R$70.2 billion, according to the (Brazilian Franchising Association). The increase was compared to the same period in 2023.

The entity highlighted that all 12 segments analyzed showed growth, mainly entertainment and leisure, food and food serviceand cleaning and conservation. Here is the statement (PDF – 192 kB).

The improvement in economic indicators, such as the increase in the consumer confidence index, the expansion of employment and the wage bill, in addition to the slowdown in inflation, contributed to the result.

In the last 12 months, the sector’s revenue increased by 14.4%, from R$231.5 billion to R$264.8 billion.

The association’s research involved 400 franchise chains, which represents around 40% of revenue and 31% of sector operations.

“We remain attentive to important challenges on the horizon, such as the potential impacts of Tax Reform, the difficulty of hiring and retaining labor and the continuous development of our teams and operations”said Tom Moreira Leite, president of ABF.
