LOA: base views Social Security expenses and call for reserve registrations with concern

The Annual Budget Law (LOA) for the 2025 fiscal year will be voted on on December 12th in the Legislative Assembly of Acre (Aleac). The proposal authored by the executive foresees a budget of just over R$12 billion for next year.

Sent at the beginning of last month to Casa do Povo, the project will go through the Budget and Finance Committee (COF) and only then go to a vote in the Plenary.

On Monday (9), Aleac will hold a public hearing to debate the LOA, with the participation of representatives from Government departments and other managers.

“The numbers projected for the 2025 financial year had an increase of 11.2%, compared to those of 2024, and total more than R$ R$ 12.15 billion, of which R$ 8.44 billion in own resources, and R$ $3.71 billion from other sources of resources, in accordance with the laws and regulations that govern budgetary matters, with a proposal being presented that balances revenues and expenses,” the Acre government said in a statement.

O ContilNet spoke this Wednesday (4) with the president of COF, Tadeu Hassem, to find out what the Government’s base expectations regarding the project.

“The LOA will be debated at the hearing and, for it, we invited managers from all sectors of the Government. After that, it will also be debated in the COF and then considered in the plenary. There is always a question about how the House will vote, but this is a Government project and it is aware of what the expenses are expected for the following year. What we are going to do here is to ensure that everything occurs in the most balanced way possible”, he highlighted.

Tadeu said that only one thing has worried the deputies: the expenses with Social Security and the call for reserve registrations.

“To give you an idea, with Social Security alone our expenses are reaching more than R$1 billion, and we need to know how we are going to take care of this income, because it is not enough to just think about the logic of the investment. How will spending be managed, which is growing exponentially?”, asked the parliamentarian.

“Another issue involves the number of calls for reserve registrations in competitions held by the State, which have also generated an important cost. It is necessary to review all these issues with great caution. But, as in every year, what we can expect is a peaceful vote, with everyone reaching an agreement”, he concluded.

After voting on the LOA, deputies go into recess and only return in February 2025.

See how the resources will be divided as established by the LDO:

  • Government of Acre, 75.19%
  • Court of Justice, 9.75%
  • Aleac, 6.26%
  • Public Ministry of Acre, 5%
  • Court of Auditors, 2.3%
  • Public Defender’s Office, 1.5%
