The actor Timothée Chalametaged 28, offered to pay a fine of US$ 500 (the equivalent of R$3,000 at the current exchange rate) applied to the organizer of a contest for his look-alikes, Anthony Po told People magazine.
The event took place in October, in Washington Square Park, in New York, and . However, the joy was short-lived, as the meeting ended tensely after the police tried to interrupt the competition and arrested four participants.
The contest organizer, Anthony Powas fined US$500 for holding a public event without permission, and revealed that the actor’s team offered to cover the amount.
“Production cost around US$4,000 (around R$4,000), so it was the best possible scenario. They need to do something more serious to intimidate us. [A equipe] He offered to pay the fine, which is really funny,” he said.
However, Anthony declined Chalameet’s team’s kind offer, and digital invitation app Partiful paid the fine instead. The organizer also revealed that the star’s team thanked him for initiating the event.
“They basically said something like, ‘We think it’s amazing. Thank you very much.’ It was all really good and fun.”
Despite this, the organizer was unable to meet the actor at the event, and Timothée himself was not even among the top 10 lookalikes, despite being the actor himself.
Anthony commented: “I think if he had stayed until the end, maybe I would have put him runner-up or something.”
The event served as a catalyst for. Harry Styles lookalikes attended an event in London’s Soho Square last month, and there was similar activity to be found in Dublin, Ireland.
