FIFA is holding the draw for the 2025 Club Super World Cup and some Brazilian artists were invited to represent the country in ‘choosing’ the balls in each pot. Among the guests from the country is the artist Romero Britto.

But why was the painter in the draw? What is your relationship with FIFA? Sporting News explains.

Why was Romero Britto in the draw?

Romero Britto has been a FIFA ambassador since 2014, when he signed a contract with the entity to create exclusive paintings for the tournament, promoting an official line of products, including clothing, luggage and even puzzles.

In 2010, Britto created one of the 17 posters that represented the World Cup at the time.

On social media, the artist’s presence was one of the most talked about topics.

When does the new Club World Cup start?

Now with 32 participating teams, the first edition of the competition will take place in 2025. More specifically, between June 15th and July 13th.

Where will the New FIFA Club World Cup take place?

The United States will host the 2025 Club World Cup. The tournament will be played in 11 cities. Orlando will have two stadiums. Nine headquarters are on the East Coast, and only two are on the West Coast (Los Angeles and Seattle). The final will be played at MetLife Stadium in New York.

What is the format of the new Club World Cup?

Held in the United States, the tournament will feature eight groups, each made up of four teams that will face each other in a single round. The two best teams in each group will qualify for the round of 16, which will be played in single knockout games. There will be no third place competition.
