Bremen – Presents are piled up under a decorated Christmas tree. Candles are burning everywhere. And his extended family gathers around Captain Hendrik Wilkens (Matthias Freihof). Only the ominous music suggests that the Christmas idyll in the thatched-roof house will soon be over: the next morning the captain lies in a pool of blood in his study.
