Stop Sabrina Carpenter and Taylor Swift! How Spotify makes everything the same

Mass makes power. The streaming service Spotify published under the title Wrapped has just published its much-noticed annual best lists regarding the old question of which farmer has the fattest potatoes (Austrian potatoes or fries, thanks, we know!). With a reported 640 million monthly listeners and 252 million paying subscribers, this year’s Spotify winner in the Planet Earth reception area not surprisingly goes by the nickname Taylor Swift. On average this year, 90.4 million people wanted to know where – according to their current album – the tortured poets work, namely in the Institute for Poetry. Behind them in the global charts are names like The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, Drake and Billie Eilish.
