The Netherlands has previously delivered several Patriot air defense system launchers to Ukraine – most recently three in November.
The Netherlands will provide an additional $23 million (22 million euros) to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense systems and cyber resilience. Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp announced it on the X platform. TASR informs about this with reference to Thursday’s report of the German television n-tv.
Veldkamp announced this financial assistance after Wednesday’s meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrij Sybih, which took place during the NATO-Ukraine Council meeting.
The head of Dutch diplomacy emphasized that the North Atlantic Alliance and its allies must take action against third countries that support Russia in its war campaign.
“It requires a more decisive and coordinated response from NATO and its allies,” he wrote.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken unveiled a $725 million aid package to Ukraine on December 2, which includes Stinger missiles, ammunition for HIMARS rocket launchers, 155mm and 105mm artillery shells, drones and landmines.
The Netherlands has previously delivered several Patriot air defense system launchers to Ukraine – most recently three in November. It was also committed to providing a complete battery of this American system in cooperation with another unnamed partner, but this intention did not materialize because the partner withdrew from it.
