Various conditions in the draw
1. Manchester City is number 1 of the UEFA qualifiers and Real Madrid is number 2. FIFA has explained that the teams 1-2 in UEFA and 1-2 in CONMEBOL (Flamengo and Palmeiras) will be distributed into groups that will go on separate paths and will only meet in the semifinals if they win their groups. If one is first and the other second, they would only see each other in the final.
2. Simeone’s men ensure a very tough rival in pot one: they will face City, Bayern or PSG. Ancelotti’s men will have Benfica, Juventus or Salzburg as their rival in pot two.
3. The two American teams already have a group marked. Inter Miami will be automatically assigned to fourth place in group A and Seattle Sounders will be placed in fourth place in group B.
