Aishwarya was casually browsing Facebook when she came across a post about a lottery draw for which she had bought a ticket. According to the portal, the Australian believed that she had been instructed in the post to check her ticket number 1414, which she believed brought her immense wealth.
She immediately went to share the joy of winning on social networks. “Guys, I was just scrolling through Facebook. My heart was really pounding. The lottery jumped out at me because I was in Adelaide and I just bought a ticket because I felt like I was going to be lucky. And the number says the draw is 1414, and that’s the winning number. Shit, I think I just won the lottery,” she said in the video you can find above the article.
The Australian was ecstatic as she thought she had won a huge prize, almost €87 million, and started dreaming about how she would spend her newfound fortune. But her excitement turned to disappointment when she realized that the number was just an identifier for the draw, not the winning digits, meaning she didn’t win a penny.
In the end, she revealed her embarrassing mistake. “This is just the number that indicates the draw. It is not the actual winning number. It goes one after the other, 1414, that’s just the draw number. Next week it’s 1415,” she said sheepishly.
The young woman broke into laughter as she revealed her big plans after she thought she had won. She said that “he will donate something to charity, buy a house and travel”. She almost quit her job before she realized the win wasn’t quite what she thought – luckily she double-checked everything.
Her misfortune brought many laughs to TikTok users. “We’ve all been there honey” someone wrote in a comment. “It’s a humbling experience,” someone else wrote sympathetically. “Haha that’s not possible, I’d be silent for days” laughed another commenter. “It’s okay, better luck next time,” someone else supported Aishwarya.
