After nine months, bones of a woman found on a farm in DF are identified

A suspicious disappearance, the discovery of a corpse and a response to the family after more than nine months of distress. Cristiane Berto de Carvalho, 43, was last seen on February 19, in Samambaia Sul. That day, the student left home to take her 13-year-old niece to school and never returned.

Three months later, a female skeleton was found on a private farm, in Ponte Alta Norte do Gama. This Thursday (5/12), Cristiane’s family received the sad confirmation: the remains are those of the woman.

A homebody, Cristiane rarely left her home to take her niece and son to school or to go to medical appointments in Taguatinga. On another seemingly ordinary day, in the early afternoon of February 19, she went to drop off her nephew at a school, at 507 in Samambaia Sul. From there, the family received information that the woman was seen on Court 318. It turned out start a search task force for the student.

“The last video we had access to was from February 20th, which shows her walking along Ponte Alta, apparently limping”, Cristiane’s brother, Adriano Berto, told Correio. Other reports indicate that the woman had entered a car, a fact pending investigation by the Civil Police (PCDF).
