i.e. poinsettia is always the queen among potted plants during the holidays. In December, the plant often appears on Polish tables, cabinets and windowsills, because people know perfectly well that if well cared for, it can be the most beautiful decoration of the apartment.
If you also have a poinsettia in your apartment, but you have noticed that its condition is not the best, react quickly. Find out why a poinsettia loses its leaves, because it is never a coincidence. This may be due to negligence in care or plant disease.
The Star of Bethlehem never loses its leaves without a reason. If they fall off or their beautiful, intense color fades, it is a sign that something disturbing is happening to the plant.
Most likely, the poinsettia is giving you a sign that it needs urgent help because it has become ill, or you are not providing it with appropriate growing conditions.in which she could develop healthily.
The temperature in the room where the poinsettia is grown should be between 18 and 21 degrees Celsius. The soil in its pot must be constantly slightly moist. This flower thrives best in bright (not directly exposed to sunlight) positions.
You can place it, for example, on a table under a lamp or on a windowsill. Star of Bethlehem prefers fertile, humus soil with a pH ranging from 5 to 6.5.

If you want the star of Bethlehem to have beautiful leaves, water it regularly, but in moderation. For this treatment, always use only standing water at room temperature.
Alternatively, you can also soak it in water once every 8-11 days (depending on the needs of the plant). The plant itself will send you a signal that it needs watering. You can tell by the fact that the top layer of its soil has already dried out and the star of Bethlehem itself seems light when lifted.

However, do not overdo the amount of water given to the plant. Falling Star of Bethlehem leaves that change color may be evidence of root damage or a fungal disease that has occurred due to excessive watering.
In such a situation, it is best to immediately transplant the plant into a new pot Clean its roots and fill the box with fresh, dry soil. Don’t water it right away, just give it time to regain its strength.
If dark spots are visible on the shoots and stems, the star of Bethlehem may have been attacked by rot or gray mold. Unfortunately, such a plant cannot be saved, so it is worth preventively spraying the flower with agents that will strengthen its immunity and protect the roots against fungal diseases (avoiding soaking the leaves themselves).
But perhaps the poinsettia leaves have merely turned yellow between the veins. Then you are dealing with chlorosiswhich indicates that the plant is cold or lacks vitamin balance (i.e. iron, manganese deficiencies, or too much calcium, phosphorus or boron in the soil).
In such a situation – depending on the cause of the problem – give it liquid fertilizer with appropriate microelements (usually with a high iron content), or move the pot. You can place it, for example, on Styrofoam, away from drafts, in a bright place.
