Judge for preliminary proceedings of the Municipal Court Bratislava I on Friday morning, he released police officers Branislav D. and Róbert M., accused of obstructing justice, from detention. The Regional Court in Bratislava will decide on the prosecutor’s complaint against not taking the accused into custody. Court spokesman Pavol Adamčiak informed about it.

At the beginning of the week, the investigator of the Office of the Inspection Service charged the pair of policemen with the crime of obstruction of justice. Both were also restricted in their personal freedom. The prosecutor proposes to them the so-called collusive custody for fear of possible influencing of witnesses and co-accused.

They should have committed the act while working in the former National Criminal Agency (NAKA). The defense attorney of the accused considers the criminal prosecution to be unjustified. In addition to the police officers, the investigator also charged a civilian with the criminal offense of obstruction of justice.
