“A great and unfortunate coincidence.” This is how the mayor of , (), qualified the fact that he had obtained contracts without bidding with the municipality totaling more than R$600 million since the beginning of the current term.
Wanted by SheetNunes received the report at her home in the Interlagos neighborhood on Saturday afternoon (30). The mayor denied knowing, the city hall’s supplier and owner of the apartment used by his family in the second half of 2022.
Nunes showed photos of the renovations carried out in the house in May 2022 and said that the dust generated by the services began to cause great discomfort to her family.
“We had to rent another place while I completed the renovation of my house. My wife looked for the real estate company that we always have a relationship with, Lopes Invest House, and the real estate staff showed her six properties. She visited and chose for that property, that we didn’t know who the owner was. I now know who the owner of that apartment was”, he said.
The mayor showed the reporter messages from a WhatsApp group that he said belonged to his family, in which users talk about the property in 2022.
In one of the posts written by the mayor, in response to a video about the property, he wrote: “What is this, I don’t know anything about it.” Next, a message appears from his wife, Regina: “I told you yesterday that I was going to rent an apartment for us for 2 months.”
When asked about paying the rent, Nunes said that around 75% (R$35,000) was paid by the real estate agency, and the rest was paid by his wife.
“This real estate [Lopes] We have already rented properties with her, she rents properties from us, she is someone I have had a relationship with for many, many years. So we had an adjustment part of amounts receivable, and this amount was deducted. So that’s why our relationship is one of leasing with this real estate agency. We had amounts to receive from her to be able to do this meeting of accounts”, he stated.
“Unfortunately, it is very uncomfortable for me to know after so long that a property that we rented is a property owned by a person who has this service for the City of São Paulo,” he said.
“I can guarantee that everything [foi] correctly, in a suitable manner, nothing irregular, no type of benefit. We don’t even know this person, no relationship or contact that could give rise to any privilege or benefit related to the issue of him providing service to the City of São Paulo”, added Nunes.
