This Thursday, December 5th, another ‘Extra’ from ‘Secret Story’ aired, led by Marta Cardoso and yesterday with the presence of commentators Márcia Soares, Teresa Silva and Pedro Crispim.
As one of the topics highlighted was João Ricardo’s gesture towards Diogo Alexandre, who threw a glass of water at his housemate, Pedro Crispim gave his opinion, also praising Cristina Ferreira’s stance in the ‘Special’ when she confronted the contestant from Oeiras ().
In this context, and because there are already many disrespectful actions by some competitors towards Diogo Alexandre, Pedro Crispim pointed out a ‘flaw’ in the production, highlighting that it should have been more ‘severe’ in the past so that these attitudes would not be repeated.
“If, on the one hand, I really liked Cristina’s stance today, I think that we, as a structure, have already failed in this edition”he began by saying.
Pedro Crispim then highlighted that “very serious situations” have already occurred, not only but especially with Diogo, leaving a reflection: “Yes sir, there is this structure inside the house of psychologists, of a team that protects, defends and doesn’t let things slip, but out here, there are people who go through this type of intense attack and who don’t have this structure but who watch to this program and I think that we, as a structure, must often stop things so they don’t end up in more unpleasant situations and that abroad also trigger triggers for people who experience this show in real life.”he stressed.
In light of the commentator’s words, Marta Cardoso decided to intervene and, despite agreeing, gave another view, explaining that it is very difficult to define what should be “marked” or not in a reality show.
“(…) It is very difficult to conduct a dynamic between people based on assumptions. What do I mean by that? Seeing anything we can think ‘this could go wrong’. You can, often you run, sometimes you don’t. And if we have the tendency, and now I am, I am not part of the production nor do I strictly conduct anything in the house, I am a simple spectator and I lead this program, if we are constantly falling into this temptation of ‘let’s define this, let’s define that’, we let of having a reality show. We now have people who are highly biased towards everything that is socially less approved.”explained the Extra host.
Pedro Crispim reacted to the presenter’s words, which concluded his speech: “But if people are not responsible for being in a reality show, someone has to be”said the commentator. “But the line is very fine. What I want to tell you is that the line is very fine. Many times, situations in which we would have wanted, I mean, to put the brakes on, we would be doing it wrong because, in fact, things went well, they went the way they were supposed to go, in others we have no way of knowing. So it’s a fine line and it’s not very easy to do but I understand what you’re saying.”concluded Marta Cardoso.
