The announced the raising of R$9.075 billion through the first issuance of Development Credit Letters (LDCs). These resources aim to finance long-term projects, with a period of up to five years for operation. Although the cost of issuance was not revealed, it was reported that it is below the DI rate. LDCs were created by Law No. 14,937/2024, which aims to increase the availability of resources for long-term financing. This issuance modality is restricted to development institutions, such as BNDES, which reinforces its exclusivity and importance in the financial scenario.

Aloizio Mercadante, president of BNDES, highlighted that this funding is an indication of the institution’s robustness and the relevance of the resources obtained to promote investments in sectors such as industry and infrastructure. Furthermore, the initiative aims to offer support to micro, small and medium-sized companies, which are fundamental to the economy. The issuance of LDCs is part of BNDES’ strategy of diversifying its funding sources. The bank seeks to position itself as a more active issuer in the local market, expanding its operations and contributing to the country’s economic development
