The former president (PL) denied this Friday (6) that there is a replacement for his name to run for President of the Republic in 2026.
“Plan A is me, plan B is me too and plan C is me,” said Bolsonaro in an interview with the Gaúcha Atualidades program, on Rádio Gaúcha. “Unless after my definitive physical or political death I will think of a possible name,” stated the former president, declared ineligible by the (Superior Electoral Court) until 2030.
The statement by the former president, federal deputy (PL-SP), who suggested this week that it could be a “plan B” to run for Planalto.
“Plan A is [Jair] Bolsonaro, I can be plan B”, said Eduardo in Buenos Aires, where he participated in a panel at Cpac (Conservative Political Action Conference). Despite the suggestion, Eduardo denied that he is a pre-candidate for the position.
On Wednesday (4), the former president also participated in the video conference and said he never thought about a coup after the results of the 2022 elections, when he lost to () but refused to acknowledge the defeat.
Bolsonaro is on a schedule in the north of Rio Grande do Sul. He visited Santa Rosa, Santo Ângelo and Passo Fundo, where he participated in Fenasoja (National Soy Festival).
The former president has two convictions in the TSE — for lies and attacks on the electoral system in a meeting with ambassadors and for electoral use of September 7, 2022.
His political group insists on trying to reverse the ineligibility by 2026 and trying to obtain an amnesty granted by the National Congress.
In October, PL president Valdemar da Costa Neto raised the names of Eduardo and the governor of , (Republicans), as alternatives, but maintained his defense of Bolsonaro’s candidacy.
