Former president complains about the report on renovations at his house in Angra and says that the Rio broadcaster is “afraid” to call him to talk for two or three hours
The former president (PL) this Saturday (Dec 7, 2024) to challenge the TV Globo to interview him live. He called the station’s journalists “weak” and said that the director general of the Federal Police, Andrei Rodrigues, and delegate Fábio Shor, which conducts investigations against people linked to the former chief executive, could question him.
“Rede Globo, I am available to you for two or 3 hours live, you can ask me about whatever you want. Jewelry, vaccines, scams, whales, condensed milk, carp, lake coins. Whatever it is, I’m available. I’m sure you’ll have the biggest audience in the history of Brazil”he stated.
Bolsonaro’s statement comes after the newspaper publish a report about the renovation of your house in Angra dos Reis (RJ).
“So, Rede Globo, are you going to judge me or are you going to continue being scared? And doing these dirty articles, like, for example, today. I repeat: Bolsonaro’s work did not have a permit and used the signature of the brother-in-law of a PL ally. It was ugly! Rede Globo, I’m waiting for your response”said Bolsonaro.

The vehicle that underwent a R$900,000 renovation at the former president’s residence did not have a permit. Bolsonaro denies irregularities and declared that he paid for services in accordance with national laws.
“I did the renovation, yes, for R$900 thousand and I paid in Pix. Everything declared in Income Tax, including the value of the renovation. I acquired this house, or rather built it in the 1990s, without any problems. There’s nothing illegal. I paid with Pix”.
BOLSONARO’S CHALLENGES TO REDE GLOBO
This is not the first time that Bolsonaro has challenged TV Globo to interview him.
In July, former president a similar provocation: “Do you not have the courage or dignity to invite me for 2 hours live?” At the time, he was speaking to supporters in Santa Cruz do Sul (RS).
Another challenge was proposed by Bolsonaro while he was still president. On that occasion, he provoked the Rio broadcaster to discuss security in the 2022 elections.
“I want to challenge TV Globo here, let’s talk about the other channels. If you would like to discuss the issue of security in elections with me live, I am available to TV Globo, with data, with numbers, concrete things about security in elections”, the then president during one of his weekly lives.
