The seat of state deputy Vinicius Camarinha (PSDB) in the Legislative Assembly is being contested by two PSDB substitutes.
Elected mayor of Marília in October, Camarinha is expected to leave the state Legislature next year, but defining his replacement will not be simple.
The PSDB’s second substitute, Damaris Moura, claims that it is she who should take Camarinha’s place, and not the first substitute, Ortiz Junior (PSDB).
Afterwards, he returned to the PSDB.
For Damaris, Ortiz “infringed the principle of party loyalty” and should not take the seat.
“After his defeat in the municipal election, disregarding statutory requirements, he tries to return to the party without previously communicating the PSDB national directory, using, for this purpose, the Taubaté executive committee, made up of his friends and relatives,” said Damaris, in a statement sent to the Panel.
“My expectation is that this matter will be resolved internally, as I fully believe that the PSDB will know how to handle this issue,” she continued.
The Panel reached out to Ortiz, but was unable to contact him.
