The court acquitted this Friday (6) two Rota police officers who killed a man in July last year in the city during Operation Shield, from .
Captain Marcos Verardino and Corporal Ivan Pereira were charged with the intentional homicide of Fábio Oliveira Ferreira.
In the sentence, judge Edmilson Rosa dos Santos, from the 3rd Criminal Court of Guarujá, understood that both acted in self-defense. The conclusion is that Ferreira was a member of the (Primeiro Comando da Capital) and had a weapon at the time of the police approach.
The police officers were represented by the law firm Fernando José da Costa.
The acquittal is rare positive news for the government in a week in which public security experienced a crisis caused by several police incidents.
