November was the hottest month, not only in Portugal, but also in Spain. Asked what can be expected from temperatures in the Iberian Peninsula in 10 years, the geophysicist and former president of IPMA responds:

“Temperatures will rise. Cold nights will be reduced in size, which raises problems, particularly in the fruit and agricultural sectors. We’re going to have water problems. We’ve had some really, really cool years from a precipitation standpoint. Currently in the Algarve, we have a guaranteed year of supply, which is fantastic, but it is clear that the dry years are ahead of us and will certainly arrive”.
