With the result, the Brazilian took an important step towards winning the trophy this Sunday (12/08), at 6:25 am (Brasília time), in the main race in Abu Dhabi. The brings below what the Brazilian needs to lift the title.
What does Bortoleto need to be F2 champion this Sunday?
If Bortoleto wins the race, the driver will be the F2 world champion. The same applies if Hadjar wins, in which case the title will go to the Frenchman.
Any result in which the Brazilian finishes ahead of Frenchman Isack Hadjar, the trophy will go to the Brazilian.
If Hadjar takes second place, Bortoleto could finish third. If Hadjar finishes third, the Brazilian could be in fourth place.

If Hadjar finishes fourth, the Brazilian could be fifth or sixth, as long as the Frenchman doesn’t set the fastest lap.
In case the European driver is in fifth place, Bortoleto could be in sixth or seventh, again as long as the Frenchman does not set the fastest lap.
The same will happen if Hadjar finishes sixth, with the Brazilian guaranteeing the trophy by finishing seventh or eighth – with the same condition that the Frenchman does not have the fastest lap of the GP.
A similar situation occurs in the case of Hadjar finishing seventh, with Bortoleto being able to finish eighth or ninth – once again, if the European does not have the extra point for the fastest lap.
If Hadjar finishes in eighth place, Bortoleto is champion regardless of his result if the Frenchman does not earn the extra point for fastest lap.
Any Hadjar result of ninth or below will give the Brazilian driver the title.
