The government leader in the Chamber, José Guimarães (PT-CE), once again criticized financial market agents and said that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva does not work to satisfy the “greed” of the sector. According to the PT member, the market does not like the head of the federal Executive, but Brazil does.
“President Lula does not work to satisfy the market’s greed. He works to defend the needs of the Brazilian people”, wrote Guimarães this Sunday, 8th, on his profile on X, formerly Twitter.
In the publication, the leader cited the Genial/Quaest survey released on Wednesday (4) about what the financial market thinks in relation to the Lula 3 government. According to the survey, the president’s disapproval rose from 64% to 90% since the previous survey, carried out in March. This returned to the mark at the beginning of the mandate, when nine out of ten investment fund professionals also had a negative assessment of the government.
“The previous government broke the spending ceiling by R$795 billion and did not leave the speculation market in a bad mood, nor did the market carry out a Quaest survey to see whether the richest people in society liked Bolsonaro or not”, commented Guimarães.
“The market doesn’t like President Lula. It does not support GDP approaching 3.5%; the unemployment rate at 6.2%; the lowest level of poverty reduction in our history; Income Tax exemption for those earning up to R$5,000; Brazil is the 2nd country that receives the most foreign investment in the world. But Brazil likes it”, concluded the publication.
The president does not work to satisfy the market’s greed. It works to defend the needs of the Brazilian people. The previous government breached the spending ceiling by R$795 billion and did not leave the speculation market “in a bad mood”, nor did the market do research…
