Has Botafogo already been Brazilian champion?
Botafogo has already won the Brazilian Championship twice, but never in the current format, with straight points.
The first came in 1968, in the now defunct Taça Brasil, when they beat Fortaleza in the final by 4-0.
Botafogo’s second, and last achievement of expression before the Libertadores da América, was in 1995, before the straight points. Glorioso beat the Santos team 2-1 and became national champions.
