Czarny Las gingerbread is a cake that perfectly replaces the taste of Christmas gingerbread. If you don’t feel like cutting cookies out of the dough and baking them for a long time, choose this tasty cocoa-cherry cake. It refers to a true classic, the Black Forest Torte (Black Forest). The original is a combination of cocoa sponge cake with whipped cream and cherries. In this issue you need to add a little more spice to the doughwhich makes it more festive.
Ingredients:
Cake:
- 300 g of wheat flour,
- 150 g sugar,
- 3 tablespoons of cocoa,
- a teaspoon of baking powder,
- a teaspoon of baking soda,
- a spoon of gingerbread spice,
- 150 ml of vegetable oil,
- 200 ml of milk,
- 3 eggs,
- 200 g cherries (they can be fresh, frozen or from compote, well drained).
Icing:
- 200 g dark chocolate,
- 50 ml of 30% cream.
How to do it:
In a large bowl mix dry ingredients: flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and gingerbread spice.
In a separate bowl combine wet ingredients: oil, milk and eggs. Mix thoroughly.
Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mixso that the mass becomes smooth and uniform.
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Transfer the dough to a cake tin with a diameter of approx. 23 cm, lined with baking paper. Place the pitted cherries evenly on top. Bake for about 45 minutes. After inserting a stick into the Black Forest Gingerbread, it should be dry.
Remove the cake from the oven and leave to cool. At this time make the icing. Heat the cream in a pot, reduce the heat and add the broken chocolate. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and a smooth icing is created. Pour chocolate icing over the cooled gingerbread.
